CheckMate
Checkmate, usually known as “Mate”, is a situation in the game of Chess where a player’s King is threatened directly by another player’s piece (the King is in Check) and has no way to defend him by escaping, capturing the threatening piece or blocking it with (the king or) another piece so that it doesn’t reach the King.
It’s the dream of every chess piece to give Checkmate to the opponent’s King because when you give Checkmate, the game is over, and you win!
In the third World of our App called "Mate in One" you will find lessons that explain how each of the different pieces can Check the King in just one move!
